Improvement in systematic error in background-oriented schlieren results by using dynamic backgrounds

Abstract The use of electronic visual displays for background-oriented schlieren allows the quick change reference images. In this study, we show that quality synthetic and images can be improved by acquiring a set with different generating median displacement field from it. To explore potential benefits, studied background changing strategies their effect on evaluation via artificial experimental image distortions. Graphic abstract
